Alexis Capers Continued...

As a freshman middle blocker at Lafayette College, Capers led her team in blocks and appeared in 87 of 94 sets. She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Spelman College before receiving a Master of Science in Sport Business and an Executive MBA in Sport Management from Temple University.

Known for her holistic and faith-driven approach to coaching, Capers emphasizes character, communication, confidence, and technical development.

“I love seeing the lightbulb go off when a player realizes what they’re capable of,” she said. “To me, that’s what coaching is all about — helping athletes grow into their full potential, both as players and people.”

Originally from Blue Bell, PA., Capers says she was drawn to Good Counsel’s mission and Xaverian Catholic values.

“God is at the center of everything I do — as a coach, a mentor, and a leader,” she said. “Being in a Christ-centered environment where faith isn’t just accepted but encouraged was a huge part of what brought me here. Real growth happens when everyone’s grounded in shared values — on the court and in life.”
