When is Good Counsel Day of Giving?
Good Counsel’s Day of Giving will be held for 24 hours on Thursday, March 25, 2021.
What is Good Counsel Day of Giving?
Day of Giving is a 24-hour fundraising celebration of Falcon pride and the power of giving back. Students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, and friends are invited to participate in Day of Giving to raise critical funding to advance Good Counsel’s mission.
How will my gift be used?
You choose where you want your gift to have an impact, and special challenges mean that your gift can go further and do more good than at any other time of the year.
I can’t afford to make a large gift. Will my donation really make a difference?
YES! Your one time gift of ANY SIZE for #GCDayofGiving, along with hundreds of other supporters, will make a difference for students and faculty! The power of collecting giving is very important on Day of Giving. For example:
- 10 gifts of $25 provide a semester’s worth of books and supplies for one student.
- 15 gifts of $50 purchase a student’s service trip fees to volunteer abroad.
How do I make a gift?
Simply visit www.olgchs.org/dayofgiving to make your gift.
Is it safe to make my gift online?
Absolutely. Day of Giving utilizes a platform called GiveCampus that is PCI Level-1 compliant. Credit card information will not be stored and is not accessible to GiveCampus. The contact information provided to Good Counsel will remain private and secure.
After making a gift, how else can I help?
Help spread the word! Visit olgchs.org/dayofgiving and visit Get Involved and the Toolkit to use your social media accounts and the GiveCampus advocate tool to encourage your Good Counsel community to make a gift.
Is my gift to Good Counsel Day of Giving tax-deductible?
Yes! After you make your gift you will immediately receive an acknowledgement with receipt for your tax records.
As provision of the CARES Act extended for the 2021 tax year, taxpayers may take up to $300 ($600 for a married couple) in annual charitable cash contributions, even if you do not itemize. It is an “above the line” adjustment to income that will reduce a donor’s adjusted gross income, reducing taxable income. Consult your tax advisor for details.
Can my employer match my gift?
Yes! Many companies will match their employees’ gifts, increasing the impact or even doubling its value! Click here to see if your employer participates.
Can I make a gift by phone?
Yes! If you prefer not to make your gift online you can make your gift over the phone. Reach out to Jessica Sardella, Director of Annual Giving, 240-283-3366.
How else can I make a gift?
You can make a gift using Venmo by sending your gift to @OLGCHS. Please note what area you want your gift to support or it will be given to the Fund for Good Counsel. Lastly, if you need a tax receipt for your Venmo gift please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
