Michael Haight Bio Continued...

He has earned 20 Coach of the Year honors over his career, including Washington Post All-Met Coach of the Year in 2010.

Under his leadership, Good Counsel girls’ lacrosse has been a dominant force in the WCAC and a fixture on national rankings lists for over a decade. His teams are known for their discipline, unity, and competitive drive.

In addition to coaching girls’ lacrosse, Haight has previously coached boys’ basketball and field hockey at Good Counsel.

Haight’s message to his players is consistent, simple, and deeply rooted in purpose: “Do what God made you to do.”

It’s a phrase he returns to often, reminding his athletes that their talents are gifts meant to be fully embraced — not just in pursuit of championships, but in becoming the best versions of themselves on and off the field. For Haight, coaching is more than developing lacrosse players; it’s about helping young women discover who they are and what they’re called to do.
