Description
Each camper will alternate between indoor beginning archery lessons and outdoor skills and crafts lessons. Archery lessons will include archery safety, proper shooting form, knowledge of equipment, scoring, and some archery games. Outdoor skills and crafts will include skills such as knot tying, lashing, tent pitching, leave-no-trace practices, and possibly fire building.
What to bring
- A lunch plan is available for purchase, or can be brought to camp in a cooler
- Full water bottle with camper's name on it
Camp Director:
Laurie Bautista
Laurie Bautista is a certified USA Archery Level 2 instructor. She has been teaching archery since 2007 with the Girl Scouts and is currently the adult sponsor for the Good Counsel Archery Club. She enjoys helping students discover archery and develop their skills. Formerly an electrical engineer, Laurie is now the Operations Manager for the Good Counsel Performing Arts Center and Lighting Mentor for the GC Theatre Company.
Mary Anne McAleer has been learning and teaching outdoor skills through Girl Scouts for most of her life. She loves learning new skills and encourages kids to embrace their curiosity. She currently teaches cooking classes for 2nd-8th graders and is Co-Director for a GSCNC Day Camp.
