Camp Director:
Dane Smith, Boys Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach
Dane Smith has begun his 3rd season as Good Counsel’s Varsity Boys Lacrosse Head Coach. The Falcons made great strides in just their second season under Coach Smith. In 2024 the team had its highest finish in the WCAC in over 10 years and tied a program record for wins with 16 victories. The program has quickly produced talented players who will play college lacrosse at the highest level (Cornell, Rutgers, Drexel, Maryland, Yale, Towson).
Through his playing and coaching experience, Coach Smith has a vast knowledge and passion for the game of lacrosse. He was a two-time captain for Division I Robert Morris University and later rejoined the program as an assistant coach for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. Wrapping up his 8-year head coaching career at St. Andrew’s High School in the Spring of 2022, Coach Smith joined Good Counsel with an outstanding .700 career-winning percentage and 3 conference titles as a coach.
Coach Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Robert Morris University in 2011. Three years later, he added a master’s in instructional leadership.
This past year, Coach Smith was the Head Coach of the 2026 Underclass New Balance All-American Team and the Head Coach of the 2029 DMV Nike Nationals Team.
He lives in Olney with his wife, Andrea, and their three kids.
