Description

Calling all rising 3rd-rising 8th-grade young performers! Campers will work together under the instruction of seasoned professionals and experienced camp counselors to learn about and execute all facets of putting on a musical theatre production. From singing, dancing, and acting, to costume/makeup/set/prop design, technical work, marketing, and other aspects involved for a successful and entertaining experience, students will conclude two fun weeks by performing a full production of a musical for family and friends in the Good Counsel Performing Arts Center theater. Camp days will consist of workshops specific to different aspects of theatre, creating some of the props and sets used in the show, designing fliers and programs, and conducting rehearsals. Auditions will occur on day one, and casting will be announced on day two.

Campers will:

  • Participate in fun drama games, especially in improv
  • Learn theater vocabulary about the stage both on and off
  • Enjoy exercising and movement while learning musical theater dance
  • Practice vocal technique with daily warm-ups
