Description

GC Lacrosse Day Camp is a great opportunity for kids to spend an entire week learning the fundamentals and increasing their skill level. Camp staff will include current and former college players, as well as current high-school and college coaches. Campers will be exposed to a variety of drills and will have a ton of fun learning about the great game of lacrosse. The week will feature a guest coach from the Premier Lacrosse League and prizes will be provided by East Coast Dyes.

What to bring

  • Certified lacrosse helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, mouth guard, protective cup, outdoor cleats, lacrosse stick, and goalie equipment (for goalies only)
  • Lunch can be brought from home in a cooler, or a lunch plan is available for purchase two weeks before the start of camp
  • Full water bottle with camper's name on it

Dane Smith, Boys Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach

Dane Smith has recently been hired as Good Counsel’s new Varsity Boys Lacrosse Head Coach and is looking forward to his first season with the Falcons in the 2022-2023 school year.  Through his playing and coaching experience, Coach Smith has a vast knowledge of and passion for the game of lacrosse. He was a two-time captain for Division I Robert Morris University and later rejoined the program as an assistant coach for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. Currently, he is a coach with Next Level Lacrosse and is the Head of the US Lacrosse Potomac Chapter. Wrapping up his 8-year head coaching career at St. Andrew’s High School this spring, Coach Smith has an outstanding .700 career-winning percentage.  

Coach Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Robert Morris University in 2011. Three years later, he added a master’s in instructional leadership. He lives in Rockville with his wife, Andrea, their daughter, Emma, and son, C.J.
