Responsible Return to Sports Protocol


PRIOR TO ARRIVING BACK TO OLGC CAMPUS

  • RETURNING STUDENTS - All students/families will complete & sign the following:
    • Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to COVID-19 and Other Activities
    • Our Lady of Good Counsel High School COVID-19 Health History Questionnaire
    • Summer Workout Permission Form
  • INCOMING FRESHMEN/TRANSFER STUDENTS - All students/families will complete & sign the following:
    • Must have all GC forms completed in the student’s Magnus portal, and approved by Sports Medicine staff
    • Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to COVID-19 and Other Activities
    • Our Lady of Good Counsel High School COVID-19 Health History Questionnaire
    • Summer Workout Permission Form
  • COVID EDUCATION
    • All athletes will complete a Zoom meeting with their sport’s respective Head Coach, who will share with them the educational material for COVID-19

ARRIVAL/SCREENING

  • Students should arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before a scheduled workout time; this will ensure enough time to complete the screening
  • Please park cars with one space in between each car to allow for distancing
  • Students AND coaches/staff will be screened every time they arrive on campus in order to track who and when someone is on campus
    • Students and coaches/staff will use their phone to complete a Google Form/Questionnaire based on CDC guidelines, regarding symptoms, upon their arrival to campus. (This will also allow us to track who is here at any given time)
    • No one may participate until form is completed
    • Parents should also be checking with their student before bringing them to campus, in order to determine if they have any COVID symptoms
    • Any student who is determined to have a temperature, whether at home or at a school, that is over 100.4 will be sent home
    • If anyone answers "YES" to any of the COVID symptom questions, they will not be permitted on campus

EQUIPMENT

  • Students must bring:
    • Personal Mask - mark mask with name/initials
    • Individual/personal towel - mark towel with name
    • Individual/personal water bottle, filled, with their name on bottle
    • Pair of cleats & pair of running shoes
    • Change of clothes if they require treatment in the Athletic Training Room
      • You will not be able to receive treatment if you do not have a change of clothes
    • It is suggested that the individual bring their own draw-string bag that they will keep with them
  • Locker rooms will be off-limits.
    • Students should arrive dressed for their session and must leave immediately after it is over
    • Restrooms will be limited and only open in the lobby of the Gallery & in Kline Stadium
    • NO congregating in the lobbies
  • Students need to wear an appropriate shirt and shorts for sessions. Shirts are to remain on at all times while inside.
  • Masks need to be worn while indoors at all times.

SOCIAL DISTANCING AND SPACING

  • Only students and coaches will be allowed at any session, regardless of whether it takes place indoors or outdoors. Parents/guardians need to remain in their vehicles.
  • Students will be placed in groups of 9 or fewer and will rotate through various stations. No more than 10 people will be allowed in a room indoors.
  • Practice, and maintain, 6 feet of social distancing indoors and outdoors.
  • No-touch rule is in effect. All individuals will need to avoid physical contact with others including: high fives, huddles, or other close contact occurring before, during, and after skills sessions, unless the contact is for the purpose of safety and specifically instructed by a coach.
  • NO congregating in lobbies or outside before, during or after a session.
  • Students are encouraged to avoid carpooling if possible. If students are unable to drive separately, we encourage them to carpool with individuals from the same workout pod, and we recommend the use of masks while driving together.

CLEANING

  • Hand sanitizer will be available for athletes around the athletic facilities. However, students should not rely on hand sanitizer alone; they should wash their hands as often as possible.
  • Staff will disinfect before, during and after all training sessions. All athletic facilities will be deep cleaned and sanitized after-hours.
  • Athletes will also clean all weight room surfaces touched immediately after usage and before the next athlete uses the same piece of equipment.

POSITIVE TEST PROCEDURE

Should someone test positive at any time, the following measures will be taken:

  • The individual must let the staff know immediately.
  • The individuals in that student's 10 person group will be expected to self-quarantine for 14 days and/or receive a negative COVID-19 test.
  • The facility will be shut down for no less than 24 hours to deep clean.

FINAL POLICIES

  • These rules and regulations apply to participation in any athletic activity on campus.
  • All sessions are voluntary.
  • Anyone with an underlying condition that could cause a greater risk of Covid-19 should consult a physician prior to participating.
  • If a student/family does not feel comfortable participating in any activity, they should contact their coach prior to the session.
  • Students must listen to the coaches and/or other athletic staff/sports medicine staff running activities.
  • Any student who cannot follow policies, procedures and directions from staff will be asked to leave that day's activity.
