Personal and Academic Counseling
The Counseling Department supports the Good Counsel community by helping our diverse group of students learn and grow academically, personally, and socially. Our counselors assist students in recognizing their strengths and identifying post-secondary and long-term future goals that may be both satisfying and effective. Counselors view their role as helping students navigate the pressures and challenges they experience as they strive to obtain a greater sense of self and increasingly move toward independence.
During this important time of transiting to adulthood, counselors work with our students to help reduce or eliminate any interference with their academics, personal development, or their ability to function effectively in the community and prepare effectively for college planning and transitions.
Our counselors hold advanced degrees in counseling, counseling administration, school psychology, and/or communication and are assisted by two administrative staff members.
