
Thomas Fortune Fay Student Learning Center

The Thomas Fortune Fay Student Learning Center opened in 2023 thanks to the largest one-time gift in school history.
The center, located on the third floor in the Steve Dean Memorial Library, helps students succeed academically and provides support in all core subject areas. The center is open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. and four days a week after school. Students can drop in during non-instructional time or be scheduled during their study hall, flex time, or lunch. The Center is staffed with and English and Math teacher, and the goal is to provide supplemental instruction to support the classroom teacher and help students in their overall academic achievement.
- 1,862 individual students visited the Learning Center in the 2024-2025 school year for help.
Learning Center Hours
- Before school from 8:00 – 8:25
- Each school day from 8:30 – 3:25
- After school on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:30 until 4:15
- After school help will be provided in:
- English/Writing Assignments on Monday and Wednesday
- Math – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
- Spanish – Tuesday and Wednesday
Announcements will be made if the Learning Center is closed for any reason. Students are required to sign in and indicate what help they are requesting. Students should come with a specific task that they need help with. Their teacher will be notified that they are requesting help.
