Good Counsel transportation service offers eight routes to get you to school. Our buses are provided by Coughlin Transportation, a reliable, privately owned business with whom we have built a solid relationship over the 30 years.

Morning pick-up schedule is the same every day of the week unless there is a weather delay. Good Counsel follows MCPS weather decisions, which are announced on the MCPS Twitter feed.

Afternoon schedule: ALL buses depart Good Counsel at 3:45 p.m. on full school days. Early release days are announced in the Weekly News (parent email) and Daily Announcements (student email).

Good Counsel is accessible via three types of public transportation: Ride-On Bus, Metrobus and Metrorail.

Ride-On Bus

The Ride-On Bus is a FREE service for students. To ride the Ride-On Bus, students must have a Youth Cruiser SmarTrip Card, obtainable at Good Counsel's school store, The Falcon's Nest, or online here.

Montgomery County Ride-On Bus offers stops on the Good Counsel campus at the traffic circle at the main entrance adjacent to the Maryland flagpole. By partnering with the Montgomery County government, we are able to offer families this no-hassle option that saves both time and expense. Metro Bus Transportation

The Y2-Y8 Georgia Avenue-Maryland line serves the Georgia Avenue, Glenmont, Wheaton, Forest Glen, and Silver Spring stations.

The Z2 Colesville-Ashton line serves the New Hampshire Avenue, Cloverly, Colesville, White Oak, Four Corners, and Silver Spring stations.

Red Line Metrorail

Students can use the Red Line Metrorail to get to the Glenmont station, where they can then transfer directly to the private Good Counsel bus.

• The Red Line Metrorail travels to Glenmont Station every 15 minutes in the morning.
• The Good Counsel private bus service stops at the Glenmont Station every regular school day at 7:50 a.m. for morning pick-up.
• The Good Counsel private bus service stops at the Glenmont Station at 4:00 p.m. for afternoon drop-off.

We strongly encourage students who live within walking or biking distance of campus to walk or bike to school. The bike rack is located outside the stadium.
