The Good Counsel Symphonic Orchestra and Massed Choir took to New York City for one of their most memorable Spring Music Trips to date. Aside from attending the Broadway show Come From Away and a New York Mets baseball game, the students spent the weekend in the city performing at various famous venues showcasing their talent in front of large audiences.

On Saturday, April 16, the jazz band performed on deck of the USS Intrepid. Even though the show was one of the windiest shows music director Dr. Richard Slocum has ever been a part of, he described the experience as an event that's sure to be one that the students will never forget.

Later that day, the students traveled to the historic Carnegie Hall to perform in front of a sold-out crowd of over 2,800 people. The Symphonic Orchestra and Massed Choir each played a variety of songs both as an individual school and as part of a larger group consisting of schools from all over the country.

Ensemble director, Mr. Thomas Kramer, was thrilled to see so many GC family, alumni, and supporters in the audience at Carnegie Hall to share in the once-in-a-lifetime experience for our GC musicians. Afterward, he noted that the concert was "a culmination of all the hard work and effort that the students have put in over their musical careers. It was phenomenal to hear them in such a professional setting."
