Longtime GC Girls Basketball Coach Tom Splaine Retires

After seventeen years, Tom Splaine is stepping down as the varsity coach of the girls' basketball program at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. Among his coaching highlights are a record of 390-161, 4 WCAC Championships, 2 Washington DC City Titles and numerous holiday tournaments titles including the Naples Daily News Shootout and the Title IX Classic. His teams have finished in the top 20 of the Washington Post 12 times. His 2011-12 team was the first girls' WCAC team to finish 21-0 in the league. More than forty of his players have played in college and eleven were recognized as 1st Team All-Met.
