(Olney, MD) - Good Counsel is pleased to welcome Summer Paglianete as its new softball coach. Paglianete is a seasoned softball player and coach, having played in two NCAA National Championship tournaments and placing third in the country during her undergraduate career at Salisbury University. Paglianete graduated from Damascus High School in 2013.
"We are excited that Coach Paglianete has joined the Good Counsel athletic family," says Steve Howes, Athletic Director at Good Counsel. "Her energy, attention to detail, and passion for the sport will energize our softball program. Her championship experience as a player and coach will be a tremendous example for our young women to follow."
Paglianete comes to Good Counsel with more than 10 years coaching experience, ranging from running camps and clinics for all age groups and ability levels, to serving as an assistant coach at Quince Orchard High School. Paglianete is also a private softball trainer teaching the fundamentals of hitting, pitching, catching, and position training. She recently partnered with Dig in Baseball to create the Dig In Softball organization, which focuses on college recruitment and skill building for female athletes.
I'm ecstatic to work with this group of young female athletes," says Paglianete. "I take pride in being a mentor and a strong influence on the student athletes that I coach. I feel very privileged to be able to work within the positive community of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School."
As softball coach, Paglianete will oversee both the varsity and junior varsity programs and work alongside an accomplished group of coaches and athletic training staff to enhance Good Counsel's athletic excellence.
