Cyberpatriot is a computer competition sponsored by the US Air Force Association. Competitors are presented with “images” of Windows and Unix systems that have been hacked, the point being to determine how they were hacked, and then to reverse those changes thus making the system secure. There is also a networking component to the competition in which students must configure a computer network to specific, secure criteria. Once an image is opened, competitors have six hours to perform their analysis and make changes.
