Freshman Retreat: "Made for Community"
The Freshman Retreat challenges our students to recognize how we are each a unique expression of God’s love, how we can seek and create space “at the table” for each other, and how we are made to be together in community. Through small and large group activities led by older Falcons, students come to understand the concepts of community, solidarity, and social justice through the lens of Catholic Social Teaching and our Xaverian Mission.
Sophomore Retreat: "Falling in Love with the Service of God"
The Sophomore Retreat pushes our students to consider how they will manifest God’s love to the world through prayer and deep reflection on their values and personal charisms. Students will come to understand how they can better live out their values through their unique gifts and talents. This retreat is held at the Shrine of St. Anthony and includes working on the Little Portion Farm to support corporal works of mercy in Baltimore City.

Junior Retreat: "Come Apart and Rest Awhile"
The Junior Retreat is often cited as the peak experience at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School by many graduates. In the Gospel of Mark, Jesus encourages his disciples to “Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while” (Mt 6:31). This three-day retreat from everyday life affords our Falcons the opportunity to explore their relationships with their sense of self, God, and others.
Junior Retreat is required of all juniors at Good Counsel. If there are any questions or concerns about Junior Retreat, please reach out to the Junior Retreat Team at juniorretreat@olgchs.org.
Senior Retreat: "Enduring Personal Relationships"
The Senior Retreat is an optional two-day, one-night retreat experience rooted in reflection. On this retreat, seniors will have the opportunity to contemplate where they have been and where they are going. While Freshman Retreat is focused on becoming a part of a community and forming bonds, the Senior Retreat focuses on the endurance of those personal relationships.

(DISCLAIMER) Our Lady of Good Counsel High School considers retreats to be an essential part of our overall curricular program. As such, retreats take precedence over all sports and extracurricular activities. Should a student desire to switch his/her retreat date due to a serious conflict with an athletic or personal commitment, the request must be made by a parent in writing no later than four weeks prior to the scheduled retreat for sophomores and no later than eight weeks prior to the scheduled retreat for juniors.
