Advancement

Alumni Relations Internship

Working under the direction of the Director of Alumni Relations, the Alumni Relations intern will support various aspects of alumni engagement and fundraising for Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. The intern will assist with communications and alumni relations tasks in preparation for a wide variety of alumni events including reunions, business networking, fundraising events, and other engagement opportunities. The intern will also assist the Directors of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving to strengthen the Class Agent and reunion captain programs. This is a summer, paid position with an opportunity to be considered for the fall semester. The Director of Alumni Relations will work with the intern to help meet any requirements to receive college course credit for this internship. Ideally, the candidate will be available 20 hours per week. Hours will be flexible to work around schedules.

Responsibilities may include the following:

  • Assisting with events including marketing to alumni, recording RSVPs, nametag and signage preparation, event set-up and registration
  • Communicating and interacting with students, staff, faculty, alumni, parents, Board members and community leaders
  • Writing and proofreading letters, articles, and documents
  • Organizing logistics and attendance for events
  • Supporting strategies to recruit and engage Alumni Class Agents
  • Compiling and preparing class notes for school magazine and e-communication
  • Preparing and composing correspondence, reports, electronic news articles, etc.
  • Creating /maintaining standard and electronic files and records
  • Maintaining and updating alumni calendar
  • Support efforts of the Alumni Board

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one full year of college; preferred majors – communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, English, business or related fields of study
  • Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation and spelling
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to track and compare data of attendance and event performance
  • Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office products especially Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Word. Experience with Photoshop and/or InDesign a plus.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills
  • Must be able to pass criminal background check

Auxiliary Programs

Auxiliary Programs Internship

Working under the direction of the Director of Auxiliary Programs, the Auxiliary Programs Intern will support various aspects of programs including special events, rentals and facility scheduling, parent and student clubs, adult enrichment classes, and summer camps for Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. The intern will assist with communications and logistical planning in preparation for a wide variety of community programs. This is a winter/spring semester, unpaid position with an opportunity to be considered for summer employment (paid). The Director of Auxiliary Programs will work with the intern to help meet any requirements to receive college course credit for this internship. Ideally, the candidate will be available 20 hours per week. Hours will be flexible to work around schedules.

Responsibilities may include the following:

    • Assisting with events including marketing to community constituents, recording RSVPs, facilitating event set-up and registration
    • Communicating and interacting with students, staff, faculty, parents, and local community members
    • Writing and proofreading promotional pieces, emails, and website content
    • Organizing logistics for the adult enrichment program and summer camps
    • Monitoring registration and rental databases, and creating data reports
    • Assisting with hiring and training summer camp staff
    • Preparing and composing correspondence to program registrants
    • Coordinating facility rental schedules, and communicating requirements and billing to renting parties
    • Assisting with county and state camp certification process
    • Communicating with summer camp directors and managers

Minimum Qualifications:

    • Minimum of one full year of college; preferred majors – communications, sports management, marketing, public relations, journalism, English, business or related fields of study
    • Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation and spelling
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills
    • Ability to organize, track, and compare data
    • Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office products especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience with Photoshop and/or InDesign a plus.
