About Us

OLGCHS President Dr Barker in front of school

Welcome to Our Lady of Good Counsel High School where our mission is to inspire our students to excel, serve, and love.

Since our founding in 1958, the educational vision of the Xaverian Brothers has been the source of that inspiration. The Brothers’ core spiritual values of simplicity, humility, compassion, zeal, and trust form the distinctive basis of our Catholic school education.

Good Counsel students excel. We offer many paths to readiness for college, among them one of the oldest International Baccalaureate programs in the country, a Ryken program supporting students with diagnosed learning differences, and a four year STEM program. Gifted and dedicated teachers, coaches and moderators help students identify talents and grow in confidence.

Our commitment to personalizing the experience of each student is reflected in our motto: In today's world, the loving, good person – even alone – can make a difference.

Good Counsel students serve. We prepare our young men and women to address the challenges of tomorrow by responding to the needs of our brothers and sisters today. At home, across the nation, and around the world, our students learn to make a difference for the better.

Good Counsel students love. We foster an enduring sense of belonging to a community, a sense that extends well beyond graduation. We cultivate personal connections – with God and with members of our Falcon family – that help students to grow spiritually, intellectually, socially and physically.

Imagine yourself at Good Counsel. It’s a remarkable place. Come and see what we do.

Peace and God bless,

President Dr. Paul Barker signature
