Social Studies

The Social Studies department at Good Counsel High School offers students a larger framework with which to understand the cultural and political aspects of the world around them. We are proud that nine out of 15 teachers in the department have earned their Master's degrees, and two have completed significant work toward a doctorate. In addition, six Social Studies teachers have served the Good Counsel community for over 25 years.

We also have, by far, the most students at GC taking IB/AP courses (over 210) with about 70% receiving sufficient exam scores to receive college credit.
